Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim today led a call in the Malaysian Parliament to condemn the Israeli attack on the Palestinian Gaza.
The 61-year old Malaysian leader urged the United Nations to broker an immediate ceasefire and appealed to US president-elect Barack Obama to review the dynamics in the war-torn zone and the rest of the Middle East, including recognizing the status of militant group Hamas.
“The weakness of the Bush administration in controlling the situation shows its lack of understanding of the dynamics in the war-torn area. From Jan 20, 2000, the Bush administration has continuously abetted in events that have eventually led to this tragedy,” Anwar told Malaysian lawmakers.

Di mana royalti minyak di Terengganu?

PRESIDEN KeADILan, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail mempersoalkan bayaran royalti minyak di Terengganu yang sehingga hari ini masih tidak diserahkan sepenuhnya kepada rakyat di negeri itu.
Beliau berkata demikian dalam satu ceramah Pakatan Rakyat yang dianjurkan di bilik Gerakan Jentera KeADIlan di Gong Kapas, Kuala Terengganu pada malam 11 januari lalu.
Menurutnya, nilai minyak yang diumbangkan oleh kerajaan negeri Terengganu ialah sebanyak RM7.4 bilion ringgit sejak 2004 namun masih berbaki sebanyak RM2.2 bilion ringgit yang masih tidak diserahkan kepada penduduk negeri itu.

Pakatan Rakyat leaders have reaffirmed a united stand on hudud law, an issue they said was exploited by the Barisan Nasional to scare away non-Muslim voters in Kuala Terengganu ahead of the parliamentary by-election due to be held there this Saturday.
At a press conference led by KeADILan president Wan Azizah Ismail, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and PAS president Hadi Awang, all three leaders pledged support for their candidate Wahid Endut .
